Four Ways To Have Your Beer, BBQ and Gains
We only have a few more weeks of summer left, whether or not you’re ready to talk about it. That means you’re probably scheduling in the last stretches of vacation, BBQs and nights out drinking. If you’re wondering how you can make the most of what’s left of summer AND stay on top of your fitness goals, here are some tips:
- Beer won’t ruin your life if you drink in moderation: AskMen has some good advice about limiting your alcohol intake to two beers/alcoholic beverages, (as well as building up a calorie deficit on days when you plan to eat a lot). If you don’t care about people talking crap about you, you can drink low-carb beer in a cup (we won’t tell anybody).
- Meat goes great on the grill! But so do vegetables. Just a thought.
- Workout first thing in the morning. If you’re an athlete (like me) who hates the heat, this is the best way to avoid any excuses. Also, you free up your evening for happy hour(s).
- Make sure you stay hydrated.
Maybe you think that you’ve got this, and there’s no need to take anyone’s advice. But why not try a few of these suggestions and see if you don’t feel better?
